The choice is yours!

“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by. And that has made all the difference.” – Robert Frost

Ever felt that you have no control over a given situation in life and that you feel helpless with no clue whatsoever on how to solve a problem? Well do not fear, you aren’t alone!

Everyone, and I mean everyone, has gone through that state where they’ve let their guards down and left themselves vulnerable. It’s what makes us human. It is natural to be in a negative state of mind such as depression, emptiness, loneliness, etc in a given situation. How one deals with it varies tremendously and at what level you are in an emotional pyramid. I define emotional pyramid with how much one has dealt with emotions in life. The higher you go the more vulnerable you are to negativity. Depending on that, one would either shed or develop additional layers of strength. That is a choice an individual would make. Just like they would choose to let situations get out of hand or control them before it breaks loose. Or choose to be happy or sad. It all boils down to making that choice which would put you on a path of either self-control or self-destruction.

“Disappointment is inevitable. But to discouraged, there’s the choice I make.” – Stephen Covey

People make innumerable choices in a single day. Some good, some bad! But each choice leads to a path you set for yourself.  But what’s important is how quickly you make that good choice. Thus, it is important to remind yourself and others that an individual’s life path is not determined by external factors, it can only be influenced.

“The self is not something ready-made, but something in continuous formation though choice of action.” – John Dewey
