This holds true for most women who tend to go back to the ones who have treated them wrongly. I won’t deny, but, I may portray this image. Been in such situations where I, literally, ask the question to myself – “Why do I keep coming back for more?” And then I answer – “Oh, right! I won’t give up on hope that someday he will change.”
I understand this and it saddens me to think that this will only eat away my self-esteem and confidence. My advise is that it is ok to be hopeful, but, make sure you maintain a distance and be hopeful. The closer you get to the element the more your esteem and confidence deteriorates. A relationship that reminds you of pain and anguish is not worth your soul.
You need to be seen as a door to a good life and not as a doormat to clean shoes on. So to my fellow women folk, do not forget who you are and involve in yourself before you get involved. That way you will be confident about yourself and remind yourself the kind of woman you are every time you feel low. Be you and love you for others to love you the way you are. You will then never have to change to make someone else happy.
Extremists grouping up, religion treated as a facade behind evil doing, people fighting, women and mostly children dying, residences turning into graveyards. How much more should innocent lives be taken for them to understand that its pointless to go like this? How can they say God is great and yet try to overpower Him by taking lives. Do they not know that taking lives is an immortal sin no matter what the cause? How can they link any religion to this outrageous act.
I’m a Christian and firm believer of my faith. I have no issues with any other religion as I believe that all of them, Christianity included, encourage peace amongst humans. And, in no way appreciates killing of another innocent human. I don’t think God needs any kind of favors from any living creature on earth. So why are these extremists trying to prove a point? The word God, normally used in prayers or praise and worship or while blessing another, has been wrongfully used while conducting these atrocities. Do they not tremble and fear the same God while killing innocent lives and the innocent of the innocent – the children?
Did they forget that God gave them lives on earth to fulfil his purpose and that is not to kill but to promote peace, love and compassion? I have only one question to them – if God does not appreciate this act, then how are they going to react? Will they hate God?
Even if we don’t put religion as the central focus here, how can they still think this is a moral thing to do? Their motto seems like kill one another as I will kill you! Then who remains if we are to wipe the whole human race. Right now the only peaceful creatures are the animals which happen to be below humans in the food chain. It will be wrong to call these extremist animals.
I am a Christian! And I love my Muslim and Hindu friends. And I will always welcome and embrace anyone belonging to any other religion with love provided they extend the same courtesy. I believe in love and peace! Do you?
If you are unsure how Heaven looks like, then do not get disheartened. There is a possibility to experience glimpses of Heaven here on Earth. Mount Lavinia in Sri Lanka happens to be one of those places that seems like a secret haven for all those lovers to renew their love or start a journey of love. Either that, or simply, for those who require a bit of soul-searching.
Built in 1806, by the British as The Governor’s Palace, was a symbol of power and authority that was placed on Sir Thomas Maitland. It was here where his eyes fell on a beautiful mestizo dancer, Lovina Aponsuwa, who was a lead dancer of her father’s troupe. She would perform for Sir Thomas who was mesmerized by her beauty and grace. As a token of his growing love for her, he decided to name the mansion after her – Mount Lavinia. The romance was short-lived – 6 years – due to his death. But till date the story continues to loom in Sri Lanka (formerly known as Ceylon) of a Lady Lavinia and how she captured the heart of a distinguished British Governor.
From pillar to pillar, walls to walls and ceiling to floor, every brick felt like it was emanating love. The air was filled with sweet aroma of the feeling that you normally describe when you are in love. The sound of the waves crashing on the shore and the twitter of the birds during the day brings in so much of inner peace and tranquility. If this is not heaven, then I can only imagine that heaven would be far greater and this would be just mere glimpse of it.
Mount Lavinia seems to embrace all the elements of nature and what seems like the only man-made element is the mansion itself. Located in the coastal town and just 12 kilometres south of the city of Colombo, the beauty of this mansion was further enhanced with its natural surroundings. It is situated atop a rock and looks over the aquamarine waters of the Indian Ocean.
The history along with the beauty makes this truly a go-to destination for all those who need that peace of mind or just to feel loved. The beach, sand and love are all elements of my life that makes me whole. My experience at this place was a little more than beautiful. If there is a word for that, let me know!
Sometimes I wonder,
As the mystery of my life still remain,
If I had all what I wanted,
Would I never feel the pain?
You entered my life
When I needed direction
Now with your absence,
Who do I look to for my redemption?
Throughout your presence,
I didn’t pay any attention.
Now my heart longs for you
But you’ve made your decision.
To see me this way
I know it hurts you
But always know this
I truly loved you!
